WAKO Switzerland proudly hosted the inaugural Alpen Open in Zurich on 20–21 June 2026. Welcoming athletes, coaches, referees and supporters from 11 nations, the event created an outstanding international atmosphere and celebrated the continued growth of kickboxing across Europe.
Throughout two days of competition, athletes delivered exceptional performances in both Tatami and Ring disciplines. For WAKO Switzerland, the Alpen Open represents far more than the launch of a new international tournament. It marks an important milestone in the continued development of Swiss kickboxing and reflects the federation’s ambition to establish Switzerland as a respected host of international WAKO events.
