WAKO Europe President Espen Lund took part in the World Cup in Budapest, where he attended the official opening ceremony of the prestigious competition and followed the events throughout the tournament.
During his visit, Lund, together with WAKO President Roy Baker, representatives of the Hungarian Kickboxing Federation and World Cup Organising Committee Chairman Zsolt Moradi, held a series of important meetings with leading figures of the Hungarian sports establishment.
Among the key meetings was the one with Balázs Fürjes, Member of the Executive Board of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, as well as Kálmán-Kiss Attila, Secretary for Sport at Sports Hungary. The meetings provided an important opportunity to discuss the development of kickboxing in Hungary, its future perspectives and the continued strengthening of cooperation between WAKO and the Hungarian sports institutions.
The presence of the WAKO Europe President at one of the biggest kickboxing events of the year further underlined the importance of Budapest as a key meeting point for the international kickboxing community and the strong position of Hungary within the WAKO family.
