WAKO International tournament – Slovak Open 2014
( Memorial of Ladislav ” Doky ” Toth ) – Banska Bystrica , 21st – 22nd February 2014
Last Saturday 22nd of February 2014 belonged to 15 Anniversary WAKO international tournament in kickboxing – Slovak Open ( Memorial DOKY Ladislav Tóth ) in Dukla hall in Banska Bystrica.
This year was exceptional concerning on a record number of participants ( 646 starters from 51 clubs and 12 countries – BLR , CZE, CRO , FIN , HUN , ITA , NOR, POL, SLO , SRB , SVK, UA ) , as well as the names of individual representatives of countries , many of whom are champions of the world , Europe , and medalists from the top events WAKO , moreover great organized preparation of tournament from organizers side of the Slovak Association of kickboxing and domestic club ŠKP B.Bystrica .
After the opening ceremony of the tournament at 09.30AM and traditional minute of silence dedicated to the tragically deceased a representative from Slovakia and national coach Ladislav ” Doky ” Toth, associated with Tribute to the human victims in Kyev, Ukraine as well as the moral support to long-time President of WAKO Ennio Falsoni , a marathon was running on 6 tatamies and in two rings.
Athletes demonstrated excellent performances, in some cases, the top world and European level , as well as matches of new fighters entering into international confrontation ….. but that´s why these tournaments are .
The referees have done under the guidance of experienced international ring inspectors and judges quality performances without any delays or complications , so last matches ended before 20 hours, which is a particularly good time at the tournament of this magnitude .
