International WAKO kicboxing tournament Balkan Open was held in city of Tešanj, Bosnia and Herzegovina on May 5th/6th,2017. This time Balkan Open hosted over 500 competitors from 71 clubs, representing 10 countries: Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Lithuania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. All athletes have shown their best in two days of exciting and memorable fights.
Opening ceremony took place on Saturday at 10:00 am with presence of Minister of sport and Minister of economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Mayor of Tešanj, president of Balkan kickboxing Union Mr Vladimir Sitar and vice-president and Promoter of the Balkan Open Mr Alija Ogric.
Among the guests of honor there were present president of Slovakian kickboxing federation, Mr Petr Onuscak, president of Croatian kickboxing federation Mr Tomislav Bilandžić, vice-president of Lithuanian kickboxing federation Mr Vadim Zelev, general secretary of Serbian kickboxing federation Mr Petar Petrovic.
Supervisor of the tournament was Mr Srđan Bugarčić, Technical Delegate from Kickboxing federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was Mr Salko Zildžić and Chief Referee was Mr Neđo Bratić from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The best club in ring disciplines was Flek Tom Cat from Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina and in tatami disciplines it was Team Masaru from Bulgaria.
Once again Mr Alija Ogric has done remarkable job in promoting another great WAKO event.
