Today is International Kickboxing Day, 30th November, the day of the recognition of the WAKO and the sport of kickboxing from the International Olympic Committee.

To celebrate International Kickboxing Day 30th November, we will look into WAKO Europe continental federation’s achievements in 2022.
What happened in WAKO Europe in 2022?
The most important event is the WAKO Seniors European Championships because it’s the qualifying event for European Games 2023 (PF, LC, FC) and World Combat Games 2023 (LK, PF).
Besides that, WAKO Europe had two successful European cups in 2022 and two world cups.
WAKO Europe hosted 14 tournaments by the end of 2022 and Europe had more than 15.000 kickboxers competinig in this year.
WAKO Europe President Istvan Kiraly attended the WAKO Development Seminar and all WAKO IF Board meetings in 2022. He was also present during the regional WAKO Balkan elections where the new president Dejan Mitrovski from North Macedonia was instated.
