The 2nd European Universities Combat Championships is organized in Zagreb, Croatia, and kickboxing is taking part at the competition.
Kickboxing competition is scheduled from 20-24th July 2023 and it gathered 250 competitors from 94 Universities from 18 European countries.
General Technical Meeting was held on July 20 in the Faculty of Kinesiology and it provided all participants and their teams with the necessary rules and clarifications. Additionally, the official draws for the competition was conducted. During the kickboxing presentation, the organizers extended a warm welcome to all participants and reminded them that they are not in Zagreb solely for medals but also to forge new friendships and bonds. The officials and participants were met with the kickboxing rules and the format of the competition.
Kickboxing is featuring with K1, kick light, point fighting and full contact, and the hall is settled with one ring and one tatami. The WAKO European referees committee chairwomen for tatami and ring Mrs Elefteria Panagopoulos and Mrs Michaela Kovacova are taking care of the referees at the competition.
The athletes and officials are accommodated in students dormitory in Zagreb, with provided three meals in the students restaurant.
