On March 13, 2015 the beautiful city of St. Petersburg hosted another high level WAKO PRO event. It was International kickboxing tournament „Heydar Aliyev Cup“ dedicated to memory of Azerbaijan National leader Heydar Aliyev.
Promoter of the event was Azerbaijan kickboxing federation leaded by Mr. Adil Aliyev, member of Azerbaijan Parliament, in cooperation with Russian kickboxing federation and Mr. Vadim Ukraintchev, first vice-president of the Russian kickboxing federation.
The event was Russian vs Azerbaijan, the best fighters representing both countries in ten great fights. Russia has won 6:3 with one fight declared as a draw.
Some about 3.000 spectators in „Yubileyniy“ sport complex, the same venue where we had SportAccord Combat Games in 2013, could only enjoy in great skills, power and ability of Russian and Azerbaijan fighters. All of them had shown that they are among the best in the world.
Complete organization of the event was on highest possible level thanks to the hard work of all members of Organizing committee, specially Mr. Sadikh Bagirov, Azerbaijan National team leader.
